UEH Green Day: Green Sight - Useful activities filled with beautiful memories
During four days from November 27 - 30, 2023, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) organized the Green Day series with the theme “Green Sight” under the “UEH Green Campus 2023” project. The program had many extremely useful and interesting activities to help students raise awareness and practice the “Green University Principles”, thereby having the right perceptions about waste classification, sustainable fashion application and environmental protection.
At Hall B1, UEH Campus B, in recent days, the Green Day series with the theme "Green Sight" with various attractive activities has attracted a large number of students and the community. The activity was organized by the Youth Union of the School of Government and the Youth Union - Association of the School of Business Information Technology under the direction of the Board of Management, UEH Green Campus Project Board, UEH Youth Union - Student Association, and partners such as TBC Ball - Can to Can, TADU, Limat, etc. has created a healthy and educational playground for the student community. The meaningful activity helps raise awareness for the younger generation about the importance of protecting a green - clean - beautiful living environment, starting with simple habits such as sorting garbage or using personal bags instead of plastic packaging in daily life and the responsibility of members of the UEH community in protecting and building a sustainable green University.

November 27 - 28, 2023: Green Campus Exhibition and 3R Activities
The UEH Green Campus exhibition is displayed right in the B1 hall with bright, colorful paintings about the environment and green lifestyle. Each work contains positive messages and lessons about environmental protection. In addition, the exhibition also integrates AR technology, students not only have a more vivid view of the exhibition but also receive profound messages about green lifestyle and spread widely in the UEH community.

Coming to the booth "Exchange batteries for gifts", students brought old batteries to exchange for small, pretty potted plants or environmentally friendly green items such as bamboo straws.

With simple participation rules, the booth of Exchanging old cans for new cans and pressing cans to regenerate the life cycle of aluminum cans with TBC BALL - Can to can also especially attracts students to bring aluminum cans to exchange for attractive gifts. When exchanging 40 used aluminum cans (soft drink cans...), students will immediately receive a convenient and environmentally friendly tote bag. In addition, TBC Ball - Can to can also brings students interesting can-pressing activities with lovely gifts, helping them learn more about the waste recycling process from collecting used cans.

Coming to “Fashion News”, students will have more knowledge and precise perspectives on the dangers of fast fashion, thereby starting to move towards sustainable consumption with green and sustainable fashion. To further consolidate knowledge, the Organizing Committee also prepared sets of questions through filters on social networking sites so that students can participate in filming clips, answering, and attractive gifts.

Along with the “Fashion News”, the program also featured the Limat booth with handmade products recycled from old nylon fibers that were sophisticated and delicate, or scented wax and soap activities using green materials, saying no to chemicals to build a green and sustainable consumption style. In addition, there was also a nylon collection activity to provide more raw materials for the unit so that Limat could continue to produce fashionable bags to solve the current painful problem of nylon waste.

Along with that is the booth displaying TADU products with fashionable accessories and bags that seem made from complex materials yet completely recycled from old jeans. Combined with the product display, TADU also organized a workshop to make simple fashion accessories from jeans such as hair clips, keychains, earrings, water handles, etc. to spread the message of recycling old fashion products into new items used every day instead of throwing them away.

November 29 - 30, 2023: Experience activities - raising awareness of green lifestyle
In the next two days of the series, students will experience more interesting and attractive activities. Coming to the Green Earth booth, students will have access to knowledge about waste and waste classification and practice the habit of throwing waste according to the accurate classification.

Most special is the workshop on decorating cup handles with fabric, the organizers have prepared materials and tools and students can freely create and decorate colors according to their preferences. The organizers hope that students will use these lovely bags to replace plastic bags in their daily activities.

The Green Day series with the theme “Green Sight” has attracted more than 600 student participants as well as more than 1,500 stories on Facebook with the hashtag UEH Green Day, creating a great influence in the UEH community. Based on that, it creates positive impacts and conveys meaningful messages so that all UEHers can join hands to practice a green and sustainable lifestyle; thereby contributing to raising awareness and action of young people in particular and society in general.
