With the aim of pioneering innovative initiatives for a closed-loop recycling waste model at University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and supporting changes in waste sorting behavior among students, staff, and learners, UEH officially collaborates with Botol Vietnam Co., Ltd. to launch the "i Ve Chai Machine" (Ai Ve Chai Hong?) - An automatic recycling station for plastic bottles and aluminum cans right on the green Campus of UEH University.
The automatic bottle recycling machine - "i Ve Chai Machine" (Ai Ve Chai Hong?) located at UEH, also known as the "Reverse Vending Machine" (RVM) by the Botol brand - is designed to collect plastic bottles and aluminum cans at the source. Afterthat, it sorts and crushes them into small pieces on-site, significantly shortening the process of transforming waste bottles into new ones, reducing the traditional 11 steps to just 3.
In addition, for each bottle or can collected by the machine, users will earn points on the BOTOL app based on the quantity, which can be converted into cash that can be withdrawn to Zalo Pay or VNPay wallets, along with participation in lucky draw programs to receive exciting prizes.
With the automatic bottle recycling machine - "i Ve Chai Machine" (Ai Ve Chai Hong?) - The UEH Sustainable University Project Board hopes to achieve the goal of recycling 100% of plastic bottles and cans discarded from the campus of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. To realize this goal, the participation of all students, staff, and especially the support of the janitors at the University is essential, as we work together to ensure that not a single plastic bottle or aluminum can goes to waste, causing resource depletion and environmental pollution. Initially, the machine will be placed at B and N Campuses to pilot its usage effectiveness, before being expanded to other campuses.
The launch event for the Botol machine will take place over two days:
On August 5, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in front of the ACB reading room - B2.011 at campus B.
On August 6, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the corridor opposite the Cheers store at campus N.
Notable activities include:
1. Experience - Receive gifts
After completing all the steps as instructed by the event coordinators, participants will receive a trendy fabric bag from the Botol brand.
2. Participate in the lucky draw
For each valid collection of plastic bottles or aluminum cans deposited into the “i Ve Chai Machine”, participants will have the chance to receive up to 200,000 VND back into their Zalo Pay or VNPay wallets.
More information regarding Botol: As the first and only member of the Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO Vietnam), the company focuses on solutions to the pressing issue facing the informal collection industry, which has yet to fully address the recycling of PET bottles.
