With the belief that waste can become a valuable resource when properly sorted and processed, from September 10 to 12, 2026, the UEH Green Campus Project, in collaboration with social impact enterprise Limloop, organized “UEH Recycle Day 2026 - UEH x Limloop”. The event successfully attracted more than 1,500 students, creating a meaningful platform to encourage the community to collect, sort, and raise awareness about waste in everyday life.

When students join hands to give waste a new story
Over three days, “UEH Recycle Day” welcomed approximately 1,508 students and collected a total of 4.3 tons of waste, including 1,165.5 kg of used clothing, 3,112.6 kg of used paper, 12.8 kg of plastic/nylon packaging, and 8,426 used batteries. These figures reflect the sense of responsibility and collective efforts of the UEH community in protecting the environment, while also sending a positive message about the journey of waste - as materials that might otherwise be discarded are given new opportunities to be reused, recycled, and properly processed.
At the same time, UEH Recycle Day made sustainable living more accessible by encouraging proper waste sorting and disposal through recycled and environmentally friendly gifts such as tote bags, cup holders, wallets, luggage tags, herbal heat packs, glass straws, and more. These activities contributed to raising awareness of the circularity of waste, promoting the practices of reuse and recycling, and encouraging individuals to start with small choices in their everyday lives toward a more sustainable way of living.

UEH Recycle Day - Connecting the community for environmental protection
As a recurring community initiative organized by the UEH Green Campus Project, “UEH Recycle Day” aims to create a space where individuals can take action and partners can join hands to collect, sort, and properly process used materials, thereby giving waste more opportunities to continue its lifecycle.
In 2026, the first edition of UEH Recycle Day was officially launched through a collaboration between the UEH Green Campus Project and social impact enterprise Limloop. The event not only encouraged the UEH community to sort and support the collection of used materials, but also served as a platform connecting UEH with businesses that share common goals in environmental protection, sustainable development, and the promotion of green values in society.

Waste collected and transported after the event
The first edition of UEH Recycle Day 2026 concluded with positive outcomes and a continued journey for waste. From each used battery and piece of clothing to every kilogram of paper and plastic bag collected, the initiative contributed to creating further opportunities for reuse, recycling, and proper processing, while promoting collective efforts to reduce waste and advance the circular economy. With the continued support of partners who share a commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development, UEH Recycle Day will continue to create spaces where the community can take action, learn together, and spread green values.
Additional Information:
UEH Recycle Day is a community initiative under the UEH Green Campus Project, organized periodically with the support of partners and the UEH community to promote waste sorting, collection, and recycling practices. Each edition of Recycle Day serves as a platform where the community comes together to take action, partners join hands, and green values are carried forward, contributing to making circular economy practices an integral part of campus life.
About Limloop - Social Impact Enterprise
From nylon bags that have completed their initial lifecycle, Limloop chooses to give them a new life rather than allowing them to become waste. With the spirit of “Reuse - Recycle”, nylon is collected, processed, and recycled into woven fabrics or heat-pressed materials. These materials are then crafted by Limloop’s team of deaf artisans into practical fashion products and accessories. Each product not only helps extend the lifecycle of materials, but also represents a combination of creative design, inclusive employment opportunities, and the principles of sustainable development pursued by Limloop.
