After a week of intense study and work, the weekend seemed to be the perfect time for students to rest and recharge for a new week ahead. However, for UEH students, the enthusiasm and voluntary spirit led them to the campaign "Saturday Volunteer, Green Sunday," where they spent their weekends brimming with the joy of giving and continuous dedication.

"Saturday Volunteer" and "Green Sunday" were campaigns under the 2019 Youth Month organized by the UEH Student Union Executive Board. Aiming to bring meaningful activities to students, the campaign was a valuable opportunity for young people to convey positive messages and the spirit of environmental protection to the community.

UEH Management Student Union: "Small Actions for a Greater Earth"

Under the sun and ocean breeze of Can Gio district, there were determined young individuals patiently collecting pieces of plastic boxes, picking up plastic cups, nylon wraps, and countless other unrecognizable items. This touching scene depicted the dedication of the youth from the UEH Management Student Union.

Inheriting the campaign's spirit and enthusiasm, on Sunday, April 30, the green-clad shirts dotted along the coast diligently carried out their tasks. Despite the intense sun and increasingly stifling weather, laughter and conversation were ever-present. The limitless motivation and desire to contribute all stemmed from the sincere hearts of each student.

UEH Political Theory Student Union: "Joining Hands for Everyone's Smiles"

The Political Theory Student Union chose the areas around UEH's B campus and the 3/2 street. Almost every day, UEH students passed through these familiar streets. However, even once, have you ever noticed the homeless individuals struggling with hunger by the roadside or the considerable amount of waste around residential areas?

Despite the somewhat oppressive weather and unexpected rain hindering cleanup efforts, on March 23 and 24, the volunteers tirelessly delivered prepared charitable meals and collected various sizes of litter from every corner. The bread rolls exchanged not only brought joy to the students but also exchanged for a warm, cared-for evening for those lonely souls without shelter.

UEH Economics Student Union: "Small Gifts Full of Love"

In response to the campaign, the UEH Economics Student Union also showcased their youthfulness through charitable activities during the weekend. With the spirit of "You'll feel much luckier having volunteered once in your life than many people outside," the volunteers meticulously prepared hundreds of bread rolls and bowls of noodles to ease the hunger of the homeless.

Looking at the completed achievements, witnessing the abundant happiness on the recipients' faces, each of us suddenly realizes that every action only truly matters when it carries genuine sincerity from the heart, spreading from one heart to another.

UEH International Business Administration - Marketing Student Union: "Long Hoa - Youthful Green"

On Saturday, March 23, the KQM volunteers organized a volunteer trip to Long Hoa commune, Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh City. The district's beach is known as a famous tourist destination, but consequently, there's an abundance of waste, plastic bottles, and containers everywhere. Not only lying on the surface but buried under the beach sand, posing challenges for cleanup and disposal. However, carrying hope, inspiration, and a unified message to protect the environment, students braved the scorching sun, diligently cleaning up the area, significantly improving the situation. Seeing bags full of trash being taken for disposal, the joy on each individual's sweat-drenched face seemed amplified.

SUSTAINABLE WASTE MANAGEMENT FOR UEH

A clean environment plays a crucial role in UEH's development. With the goal of reducing waste, the UEH Zero Waste Action program was initiated. Through this program, UEH hopes to raise the environmental awareness of every individual studying and working at UEH, contributing positively to the development of a sustainable society and economy.
