Let’s Green Unitour – An Ambassador for Green Universities, Spreading Positive Values to the Community
Let’s Green Unitour is an initiative under the UEH Green Campus Project and a key component of the Green Semester – Building a Green Community campaign, supported by the "For Green Future" Foundation of VinGroup.
Implemented by the Sustainable University Initiative Committee, the UEH Green Campus Project, and the UEH Youth Union – Student Association, Let’s Green Unitour aims to create an immersive experience within the UEH Green University Ecosystem. The program seeks to enhance environmental awareness among students, to promote the UEH Green University Model within the broader community, and to contribute to building a nationwide network of green universities in Vietnam.
In its first journey of 2025, Let’s Green Unitour brought an inspiring and immersive introduction to the Green University Model at UEH Mekong.
High-school pupils were introduced to the UEH Green Campus Project and its various initiatives in addition to experiencing the UEH Green Campus Game – an innovative green technology simulation platform designed to reshape environmental awareness and to promote sustainable living behaviors.
Participants engaged in five interactive game levels, each representing a key action step toward sustainability. Upon completing all levels, they received eco-friendly gifts from the UEH Green Campus Project:
- Level 1 – Rethink: How does my daily life impact the environment?
- Level 2 – Reduce: What can I do to minimize waste?
- Level 3 – Reuse: What products can I use for the longest time possible?
- Level 4 – Recycle: How do I manage and properly dispose of waste?
- Level 5 – Me – Green UEHer Citizen!
After engaging with the UEH Green Campus Game, students put their knowledge into practice by participating in waste sorting based on the 3-Category Model, with the support of the AI Scan to Classify application. This AI-powered tool assists in waste classification at the source, enabling users to quickly and accurately identify, categorize, and learn about different types of waste. Through this activity, students gained a deeper understanding of proper waste sorting and disposal processes while experiencing first-hand how smart technology can facilitate sustainable living.
As part of Let’s Green Unitour, students had the opportunity to participate in Zone 4: Exchange Waste for Gifts, an initiative promoting sustainable consumption and eco-friendly habits. Supported by A Chau Environment Company – a company specializing in waste management and environmental solutions, this activity encouraged students to trade recyclable waste for rewards.
Participants brought used materials, including:
- Paper (newspapers, notebooks, books, cardboard, paper bags, paper cups, magazines)
- Plastics (plastic bottles, plastic containers, plastic straws, plastic utensils)
- Metals (tin cans, aluminum cans, nails, screws, metal scraps)
- Cleaned and dried milk cartons
In return, they earned points that could be exchanged for eco-friendly gifts such as recycled coasters, keychains, fabric tote bags, and hats.
The event garnered enthusiastic participation from students, successfully collecting 5 kg of plastic waste, 50 g of paper, and multiple milk cartons.
