7.4.1. Local community outreach for energy efficiency Provide programmes for local community to learn about importance of energy efficiency and clean energy

Community Outreach Program on Energy Efficiency - UEH for a Green Future

In the context of climate change and resource scarcity, efficient energy use efficiency has become a crucial responsibility for both individuals and organizations. The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) aims to raise community awareness about this issue and promote energy-saving solutions in daily life. Through specific initiatives and actions, UEH hopes to inspire everyone to work together for a green, sustainable, and thriving  environment for generations.

EEPSEA shares insights on inclusive carbon transition at ADB meeting

Four researchers from the Environmental Economics for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA) Institute , a unit under UEH, participated in a special session on “Inclusive Carbon Transition Pathways in Asia: Greening Agriculture and Local Climate Management” at the 56th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Dr. Pham Khanh Nam, Director of EEPSEA, moderated the session, which aimed to promote dialogue and knowledge sharing among researchers, policy makers and practitioners. He emphasized that inclusive carbon transition is a key challenge for Asia, as the region faces the dual goal of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while ensuring social welfare.

EEPSEA Annual Conference 2023: Charting the Path to Transition – Promoting a Sustainable Future in Southeast Asia The Southeast 

The Economy & Environment Partnership for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA) held its Annual Meeting on October 27-28, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This two-day event brought together researchers, policymakers, experts, and stakeholders from across the region to foster networking, share knowledge, explore collaboration opportunities, and shape EEPSEA's future direction.

The EEPSEA Annual Conference 2023 served as a forum for reflecting on achievements, lessons learned, and strategic directions for the future. By bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders, the event promoted interdisciplinary approaches, knowledge exchange, and collaboration efforts towards a greener, more sustainable, and inclusive development pathway for Southeast Asia.

The EEPSEA executive members expressed their gratitude to the network members for their participation and contributions to the EEPSEA Partnership.

EfD Vietnam Leads Carbon Market Policy Research for Ho Chi Minh City

EfD Vietnam has recently played a main role in the dialogue on carbon markets in Ho Chi Minh City, the largest economic hub in Vietnam. The research team, together with local stakeholders, prepared policy reports and organized a policy dialogue to explore the impacts of carbon markets on the city. The event "Policy Dialogue on the Carbon Market: Forecasting Impacts and Policy Directions from Ho Chi Minh City," brought together a wide range of participants. Scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from local government, businesses, and international organizations in Ho Chi Minh City and southern Vietnam participated in the discussions.

Stakeholders and the Research Team at the Reporting Session

The journey towards energy efficiency is not just a responsibility but also a commitment of each individual to the environment and the future. With UEH’s efforts in raising awareness and spreading practical solutions, it is hoped that the community will work together to create positive change. Let’s start with small changes in our daily habits to build a more sustainable life together. UEH believes that when we join hands and take action, everyone will contribute to protecting the environment and creating a better world for future generations.
