After three days of the pilot launch of the "Technology Initiative - Green Campus Game" (May 31 - June 2, 2024) featuring the minigame "WHO IS GREEN CITIZEN," the competition attracted nearly 800 UEH students from various levels and systems, receiving positive feedback. Among them, 95% of students found the game to be useful, 480 students chose to practice waste sorting, 637 students opted to reuse existing plastic bags and refused new ones, and 685 students decided to bring their own thermal mugs for purchasing beverages. This demonstrates that the minigame not only contributed to raising awareness among students but also influenced the sustainable habits of UEH university students.

The technology initiative "Green Campus Game" - a gamification application that helps students understand the environment better by exploring the power of the green lifestyle known as the 4Rs (Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and its positive impact on the environment. The minigame consists of 5 rounds with dozens of interesting questions surrounding environmental issues and those on the UEH campus:

Round 1 - Rethink: How has my life impacted the environment?

In the first round, you will answer multiple-choice questions about how your everyday life has affected the environment. By analyzing your personal actions and habits, you will have the chance to recognize both positive and negative influences on the environment. This will help you gain a clearer understanding of the importance of changing behaviors to create a positive impact for a greener environment.

Round 2 - Reduce: What can I do to reduce waste?

After the Rethink round, students will have made certain shifts in their awareness. In the Reduce round, you will answer specific questions aimed at minimizing the amount of waste produced from daily activities. Reduce focuses on reducing wastefulness and using resources more efficiently; you will find that you can contribute to environmental protection and the building of a more sustainable community.

Round 3 - Reuse: What products can I use for the longest duration?

In the Reuse round, you will explore and share about products that can be reused and how you can utilize them to minimize waste. By seeking creative and sustainable uses for everyday items, you will contribute to reducing waste and protecting the environment.

Round 4 - Recycle: How do I dispose of waste and find ways to handle it?

In this round, you need to learn and share about the recycling process and waste management, seeking effective ways to recycle and reuse waste materials. Through this, you will contribute to reducing environmental pollution and protecting natural resources.

After participating, the competition received a lot of positive feedback that contributed to improving the game further:

Regarding the interface: We will strive to enhance the interface so that students can operate more easily, with a more visually appealing design, clearer text, and many realistic and vivid images. Additionally, we will embed lively sound effects and include a feature to toggle music on and off.

Regarding the content: We will work on designing questions more scientifically, avoiding repetition of questions. Furthermore, we will add hints for answering questions as well as explanations for the answers, allowing students to learn and remember more effectively.

Participating in the minigame "WHO IS GREEN CITIZEN" is not merely a competition; it is also a journey of self-discovery and learning about the environment around us. By participating, you will not only have the opportunity to access new knowledge but also become a part of a community of students actively working to protect and care for the environment. In the near future, our technical and content teams will strive to improve the game to enhance your experience as students.
