That "UEH Zero Waste Campus" Project was collaborated by University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) with Vietnam Zero Waste Alliance (VZWA) in addition to organizations and experts is the very first Zero Waste University Project in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam. Trong Hieu Singer - always well-known for his music and positive lifestyle – is to be Communication Ambassador towards inspiring and spreading green living values with "Rethink & Be Green" message.
UEH Zero Waste Campus - Pioneering a green and sustainable living at Universities
Zero Waste Campus is the first initiative to pioneer green and sustainable living at Universities is to be planned to be deployed from 2021-2025. “Rethink & Be Green” is the first phase conducted in 2021, aiming at building innovative educational platforms as well as imparting intellectuality, changing UEHers' behaviors and connecting the community - spreading knowledge towards a multidisciplinary and sustainable UEH University.
In addition to applying 3R (Reduce - Reuse - Recycle) model in modifying UEHer Community’s behavior, implementing garbage source classification, supporting effective waste treatment, "UEH Zero Waste Campus" will apply inspirational education methodology and user-centric communication technology to see transparently more of the project’s benefits in promoting the circular economy. Through diverse and various activities (workshops, seminars, contests and so on), the project targets educating knowledge, raising awareness, changing behavior and assisting UEHers in better understanding Green lifestyle. Especially, Trong Hieu Singer will accompany the project, contributing to spreading and conveying "Rethink & Be Green" message to UEHers Community in particular and young Vietnamese generation in general.

Trong Hieu Singer receives his audiences’ love due to his meaningful, positively energetic music and top stage-performing ability. Thanks to his art and lifestyle, Trong Hieu always spreads love, optimism and inspiration to the audiences, particularly young people. Trong Hieu regularly participates in charity, environment campaigns, women-and-children-protection activities. Trong Hieu is both Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations’ official member and Ambassador for numerous community planning and campaigns, contributing to the society’s sustainable development. In 2020, Trong Hieu was "Trai tim xanh" Project Ambassador and "Under The Same Sky" song, composed by himself and sung with 17 international singers, was selected by UNICEF Vietnam as this campaign’s theme song.
Recently, his being as a vegetarian for more than a year with the desire to protect the environment has remarkably engaged attention and inspired everyone with green lifestyle. With "Nghe thuat la yeu thuong con nguoi" (Art is loving people) Concept and an expectation of spreading energy and positivity as well as preserving the living environment for future generations, Trong Hieu has become the singer accompanying UEH Zero Waste Campus Project.

Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President of UEH commented: “Trong Hieu Singer is a representative of a dynamic young generation with civilized, innovative and creative thinking. We are extremely delighted and do appreciate Trong Hieu's contributions when accompanying the project. It is expected that, with a strong community influence, Trong Hieu will spread the project and inspiring green living to UEHers and all young people.”
Trong Hieu will participate in UEH Zero Waste Campus Project’s activities including "Green UEHer Citizen" MV and TikTok competition - X-Greeneration – with the purpose of spreading "Rethink & Be Green" message to UEH students.
When being asked his feelings in accompanying the project, Trong Hieu excitedly expressed: "Hieu is particularly interested in the environment, not just for the present but for future generations’ living environment as well. Hieu found that "Zero Waste University" Project has the same goal as mine towards environmental protection, this is the reason why Hieu agreed to accompany this special project. Hieu would like to join with UEH students in performing and spreading green thoughts and actions to young people - the generation that determines the future living environment quality."
A UEH K47 regular-level freshman conveyed: “I was informed about UEH Zero Waste Campus Project in Orientation week, and I am very proud that the university I attend is operating international environmental planning. I find it significantly impressive and I will strictly obey UEH regulations to make it exceptionally successful. When I knew that Mr. Trong Hieu would come along with the project, I was very amused. I have idolized him for both his voice and the community planning he was involved in. Additionally, I would like to show my gratitude to UEH for creating a green learning environment generating more and more interesting. I am so proud and do hope that it will be well-accomplished.”
This is the first time University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City has cooperated with Trong Hieu on an environmental project. From this pretension with Trong Hieu’s companionship, this project is expected to impact UEH students as well as young generation in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and regional countries in general.
